5 Best Apple Watch Apps for Frequent Travelers

In the world of digital era, smart gadgets are the best companions on your travel. Whether tracking your flight tickets , booking an Uber to hotel, checking mails or navigating your way in a new city, gadgets make life way simpler. If I list down my favorite gadgets , Apple Watch is undoubtedly the most desired one while I am on the road. The Apple Watch has some obvious benefits not just for athletes, but also for business people. It makes you stay connected and convenient while you travel, without having to keep checking your phone or opening a laptop.

If you want to take full advantage of the Apple Watch while traveling, start by downloading these five apps to your smart watch. They will make traveling easier and more enjoyable than ever before.

Babbel

Price: Free

The Babbel app is designed to give you a functional knowledge of 14 languages from all over the world. The point isn’t to become fluent in languages like Danish or Turkish. It’s all about learning 360 of each language’s most practical words and phrases. Once you learn them, you can use them for basic communication in almost any country you visit.

The interesting thing about Babbel’s smart watch app is that it lets you learn words and phrases that are relevant to where you are. If you walk into a cafe, you can use Babbel to learn how to order a drink. If you arrive at the airport, you can use it to ask where your gate number is located.

Apple Maps

Price: Free

You have probably used the iPhone version of Apple Maps to find your way around unfamiliar cities. The Apple Watch version makes it even easier to find your way. Instead of pulling out your phone to see where you turn next, you just glance at your wrist. The Apple Watch will even vibrate as you approach your next turn.

Since smart watches have small screens, it’s sometimes more convenient to use your voice to request directions. Instead of fumbling with your phone, you just ask your watch how to reach your destination. Since you don’t have to look at a screen, this feature makes Apple Maps safer when you’re walking or driving.

CityMapper

Price: Free

CityMapper gathers information from users to help you find the fastest route to your destination. Since it relies on users to update its maps and route options, it tends to work best in large cities. The more the people contribute, the better the app works.

This may sound a lot like other maps until you realize that CityMapper doesn’t focus exclusively on car traffic. It also collects information about trains, light rail, subways, and other modes of transportation. No matter how you plan to cross the city, CityMapper can help you do it without frustration.

Foursquare

Price: Free

It’s always difficult to decide where you should go when you’re in a new city. When you’re standing in front of your hotel, you don’t know where the restaurants, cafes, bookstores, and other businesses are. The city’s best lunchtime spot could be right around the corner, but you would never know it.

Foursquare pays attention to where you are and recommends places based on your interests. If you want to see a movie, it will show you nearby theaters. If you need a quick cup of coffee to keep you going through the day, it will tell you how to find nearby coffee houses. The app even includes user reviews to help you decide which place you want to visit.

SPG: Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Price: Free

SPG: Starwood Hotels & Resorts has to be one of the coolest apps that you can add to your Apple Watch. It only works when you’re staying at a Starwood location, but it gives you plenty of features that will make your stay more enjoyable than usual.

Once you add the SPG app to your smartwatch, you don’t have to check in or check out. The app will check you into your room when you walk through the hotel doors. You don’t even have to get a key card for your room. The hotel automatically assigns a unique number to your Apple Watch so you can use it to unlock doors. This app is perfect for frequent travelers who don’t want to waste any time.

Make sure you add these apps to your device before you take your next vacation or business trip. With them on your wrist, you’ll feel at home no matter where you go.

Babbel is a great app. I don’t use it often. But use their website to learn Spanish. The last app is wonderful, to say the least. What fun and comfort it is to unlock the room with your smart watch! Beat the check-in line and be trendy at the same time. I would recommend it to my friends.
