It is said that food has united communities, religions and cultures over decades. Having food together is not only a way to celebrating any occasion but it also unites people over differences. When it is the Easter Festival time, one can’t just sit behind, not relishing the mouth-watering Easter menu at the lavish and upscale all day restaurants named 1911, The Imperial Hotel. The menu includes a global varieties of Lamb and seafood with an extensive range of cold cuts. I was invited to the luncheon, rather an elaborate Easter brunch buffet, organized by 1911 restaurant on the occasion of Easter Festival. The very first look of the restaurant, with its British laid back charm and the royal interiors simply floored me. I was bowled over by the ambiance and décor of the restaurant.
Easter Festival brings back a lot of childhood memories of mine that include reading about the egg hunt, Easter Bunnies, the lamb dishes and the tasteful food platters that are served during the festival. A widely popular Christian festival, Easter is mostly known as Pascha / Resurrection Sunday (Greek/Latin) and is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. People across the globe rejoice for reaching the end of the long Lenten fast, which leads to a gala feast to celebrate the concept of rebirth among Christians. Food plays an important role in the celebration that includes Easter food like Lamb, Eggs and Chocolates. The food items have their own symbolic and traditional significance in the festival.
The first look of the food spread at 1911 was simply stunning. It had everything that one can conspire to have in an Easter lunch.

The menu offered a scrumptious culinary treasure of mouth-watering dishes ranging from soup, a variety of green salads, roasted beer chicken, lamb pie, pork belly, stuffed leg of Lamb, seafood Paella to Flambeed Baba au Rum.
As I settled down with my bunch of friends, the conversation started with giggles and a lot of laughter over the Barley & Thyme Soup. It was one of the best soups I had ever sampled which was followed by a variety of salads.

The food made a lot of sense when the Chef Prem K Pogakula- Executive Chef, The Imperial, at Lutyen& Baker room and Hardinge room at 1911 Bar, joined us for a fun conversation and made us laugh like anything.

I could not have asked for more. Being a non vegetarian, I had a gala time sampling the Lamb, chicken and pork dishes. If I have to pick the best dishes, I would highly recommend Minced Lamb Pie, Cinnamon & Honey Roast Pork Loin, and Stuffed Chicken Roulade. It tasted super scrumptious.

No feast can end without the mouth-watering dessert. It was time for Flambed Dessert- Baba Au Rum. The flaming flavor and the taste of cinnamon in the rum were too perfect to finish the Easter buffet brunch.
