My Maiden Cruise Experience with The Princess Cruises: What I liked the most

“Once a cruiser always a cruiser”, I can vouch for this phrase. There is hardly any chance that you will enjoy other modes of travel, once you indulge in cruising.

I have just come back from my maiden cruise trip with Princess Cruises, organized and well crafted by Cruise Professionals. I still can’t stop raving about my overwhelming and unique experience of cruising for six days on Majestic Princess Cruise from Dubai to Kochi. Cruising is addictive and one can’t deny this. The magnificent 19th decks’ ship, the world class amenities, satisfying services, impeccable entertainments, intelligent sessions and unmatchable hospitality redefine luxury in true sense. My jaw literally dropped when I first saw the Majestic Princess Cruise ship at Port Rashid in Dubai.

Probably I had never seen such a gigantic ship from such close proximity. I instantly felt so tiny standing next to the anchored ship. I stood still for some time, only to soak in the feeling that this majestic ship was going to be my abode for next six days.

As I stepped out of the lift on deck 10, I was welcomed by the ever smiling Mr. Clerry Luis to my stateroom. While he was explaining about the room amenities, I sneaked out quickly to have a first look of the balcony. Realizing the fact that the Sun was going to set in a while, I rushed to the upper deck 16. Standing on the deck, as I was watching the orange hues painting the sky, like a masterstroke of an artist, the reflection in the sea made it come alive.

The darkness had fallen around; the glittering skyscrapers of Dubai appeared more vibrant. As I looked around, I was in awe seeing the scintillating deck 16 with lamp posts, swimming pool, arm loungers, and movie theater under the stars. In no time I realized that I was on the voyage of a lifetime.

The Most striking features of Majestic Princes Cruise That I liked the most

The majestic Princess Cruise is the third Royal-class Princess Cruises ship, after the famous Royal Princess® and Regal Princess® from the Princess Cruises line. The 143,000-ton, Majestic Princess is among the largest and luxurious cruise ships sailing at sea. With the most luxurious accommodation at sea, specialty dining, thrilling activities, unavoidable entertainment, rejuvenating spa treatments, multi-story atrium, outdoor cinema and more, Majestic Princess introduces you to a new world. The world that spoils you with its rich affluence pampers you royally and treats you with smiling faces every day.  There are a lot of striking features of the Majestic Princess Cruise ship. Let’s find out the most striking ones.

It is Majestic in true sense

The grandeur of the Majestic Princess is incomparable. The 19 decks, 1346 crew members, 1,780 staterooms, and with more than 3500 passenger capacity, this royal ship is a massive cruise liner sailing at sea currently. Embarking from Barcelona on May 14, 2017, visiting Dubai and Singapore, the Majestic Princess will arrive in Shanghai. I was lucky to cruise from Dubai to Kochi in her maiden trip. Everything about this royal cruise was magnificent. The three floored glittering atrium, which is considered one of the most happening places on the ship, is nothing less than a social hub.

It simply transports you to the famous movie named “Titanic”. I was dumbstruck the moment I entered the Atrium. The shimmering Chandeliers, sparkling lights, and aesthetically designed decors make you feel like a royal on board. The atrium was undoubtedly one of my most favorite parts of the cruise. But if I lost my heart to any corner of the cruise ship, then it has to be Deck 16. Allowing my hair to play with the wind, standing for hours admiring the ocean, watching movies under the stars, lounging on the chair for a longer time, relaxing in the Jacuzzi or in the swimming pool, this place will not leave you unattended. It spoils you completely.

Whether it is the Princess Theatre or Princess Live, it’s always houseful with the guests enjoying movies, musical shows or some engaging activities. The multiple dining options with specialty restaurants give you a plethora of options to choose from. You can enjoy the cold breeze at night with a hot cup of coffee from International 24*7 cafe on deck 5. Majestic Princess truly lives up to its name.

World Cuisines at its best

If you are someone who loves sampling the best of world cuisines, the Majestic Princess can give an array of dining options on board. From the Multi-Cuisine Restaurants, fine dining to specialty dining, the guests are given a varied choice of restaurants and cafes inside the cruise ship. The majestic Princess boasts of two newly launched specialty restaurants named Harmony & La Mer.

Harmony is a modern specialty restaurant with a sophisticated Cantonese dinner menu by Michelin-star chef Richard Chen and La Mer offers authentic Parisian bistro experience with fine dining dinner menu featuring French cuisine by the Michelin-star chefs Emmanuel Renaut.

My most favorite of all was“The Marketplace” on deck 16, which offers the best buffet options, giving it more of a casual look, where guests prefer to have their lunch in their swimsuits. If you are an admirer of Italian food, Alfredo’s features delicious calzones, salads, and thin-crust pizza. I relished the best pizza at sea here.

I savored happily at the Indian Dishes likes aloo-bonda, aloo-gobi, dal, rice, samosa, etc. In addition, Crown Grill’s authentic American steakhouse experience and Lobster Grill & Dim Sum Bar give you the best culinary experiences on the ship.

The sky-high level of entertainment

Every morning, I used to wait for the Princess Patter to keep myself updated about the scheduled activities, entertainments, the special menu of various restaurants, gaming sessions, workshops, talk shows and what not. It was impossible to attend everything as there was always something happening around every corner of the ship at different decks at the same time.

The ship is yours and you just need to get your feet moving and grooving. The entertainment on the ship is on an epic scale. Whether it is a musical show, special screening of the award-winning movie, dazzling outdoor extravaganza, or a production show, everything has a sky-high standard.

If you are late for the show, don’t expect to get any seat, as the Princess Theatre is always houseful. I had a gala time attending one of the best musical nights by James & Branden.

The majestic melodies by the Ship’s Musicians create soothing rhythms when you choose to have a cup of coffee at any of the decks at Atrium. My all-time favorite was the melodious piano session by four beautiful musicians at Atrium.

I was thrilled to see people enjoying at the Casino as well. Even if you don’t want to attend any of the above, you can quench your thirst by visiting bar & lounge for just about every mood. There is absolutely no room for boredom while cruising.

Something for everyone (Activities)

The best part of a cruise vacation is that the moment you step inside, everything is taken care of. From your suitcases, food, entertainment to the activities, every small thing is well planned. You are completely hassle-free.  Irrespective of your age, there are a lot of exciting and engaging activities on board for everyone. There are musicians, jugglers, acrobats, and a variety of other performers at the multi-storied Italian-inspired Atrium, who keep you entertained throughout your stay.

From experiencing the steaming hot tubs at Hollywood Pool club, enjoying Karaoke session, indulging in luxury shopping from the most well-known brands on board, or playing your favorite sport with your friends, family or children at the Princess Sports Centre, there is so much to do during your cruise vacation. The nine-hole mini golf course of Majestic Princes is one of the best activities for kids. My favorite activity on board was walking on the SeaWalk.

128 feet above the waves and extending 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship, the 60 feet long cantilever over the ocean glass walkway, is the most thrilling activity to do on Majestic Princess. I can spend hours standing there admiring the ever-changing seascape.

Amazing Crew Members

One thing that takes a cruise vacation to another level is the amazing crew members, who serve the guests day in and day out. The warmth in their behavior, world class hospitality and “going an extra mile” kind of attitude makes it worth sailing for months on a cruise ship. Meeting people from different countries with varied backgrounds and languages not just help you to understand the world better but gives you a better perspective. The care and effort to make you feel comfortable, taking care of the tiniest of your needs, helping you with everything and those sweet greetings every morning and evening amazed me during my vacation. I met a lot of amazing crew members from various cultural backgrounds. I even indulged in conversation to know them better. It felt so good to meet those people who actually make your vacation one of the most memorable ones by their excellent services. I still can’t forget the crew member at “The Market Place” restaurant, who came to help me when he saw me struggling with my camera. He not only helped me but took some stunning pictures for me.

Likewise, I enjoyed the conversation I had with one of the crew members on a rainy day, when we both got stuck on deck 16 due to rain. There are many such anecdotes from my maiden cruise trip about these amazing crew members.

I never knew that I will be longing for my next cruise vacation right after disembarking from the Majestic Princess.I was completely hooked by almost everything. Sailing days after days, soaking in luxurious indulgence, meeting the most amazing people from across the globe and living countless priceless moments on board was more than just a vacation. While standing alone, without caring much about my messy hair, I enjoyed the sound of waves and got lost in the world of my thoughts. I lived endless fleeting moments secretly on The Majestic Princess.

My wife and I went on our first cruise about a year ago and we are hooked too and it was nothing like this one. This one is truly majestic. The theater looks like something to rival the great theaters here in Las Vegas. I certainly can see why you would be reminded of the Titanic but not sure I would be too comfortable with that.

Wow it is huge! Like a big giant floating city in the sea. The interior looks exquisite and very much as if you had just walked onto the Titanic, especially with those chandeliers! You have now been spoilt forever! It will be hard to travel any other way. I think you found a great spot though to relax. That would be my place too.
