The Imperial Culinary Club Celebrated Women’s Day

Mary McLeod Bethune, “Whatever glory belongs to the race for a development unprecedented in history for the given length of time, a full share belongs to the womanhood of the race”

On 5th March, The Imperial Culinary Club, on the occasion of the Women’s day which falls on 8th March, did their bit in paying a tribute to all the women of the world by focusing on their nutritional needs, for a comprehensive well being. The Chef Parul Pratap and Tea Sommelier Anamika Singh- Founder of Anandini Himalaya Tea, conducted a live culinary session on the food recipes and achieving a desired taste and aroma with regards to Tea, in order to stimulate women from within. I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend the session and be a part of this amazing experience.

The aim of the session was actually to make the women aware that they have special nutrient needs and it is imperative for them to understand this for a healthier life. Vijay Wanchoo, Senior Executive Vice President & General Manager, the Imperial, New Delhi commented “We men are grateful to our women for the difference they make in our lives. Their inspirational journeys to the top of the ladder, through the lens of gender equality is a true awakening.  It’s now time to be aware what is important for their well being as they surmount personal and professional challenges along their journeys. So, I am excited to share my thoughts today on these healthy Super Food recipes by Chef Parul Pratap and some interesting tea infusions to go with these by Tea Sommelier Anamika Singh. We are truly grateful to both these amazing women for lending their expertise in curating a fabulous Super food menu and healthy tea blends, on the occasion of Women’s Day at The Culinary Club.”

Pumpkin Risotto

The session featured one of the most fascinating cook outs of Pumpkin Risotto and Basil Butter and Oats Apple Crumble. I was wonder-struck getting to know how delectable and saporous recipes can be made using traditional ingredients. Everyone around were very excited to take home these recipes from The Imperial Culinary Club’s kitchen

Tea is an integral part of every household. Complementing Parul’s culinary tribute to women and supplementing the dietary eulogy was Anamika’s all new tea blends. I must tell you that the session was like a myth breaker for me as I got to know the nuances of tea making. Also having tea in wine as well as whiskey glasses was a new experience for me. It simply introduces tea in your dining space and proves that how blended tea can be paired with dishes. Anamika Singh rightfully said  “When you spend time in making the mug of Tea that connects with your core, you gift yourself  4 minutes of ‘precious’ through that sunshine in a cup”

The afternoon ended with a lavish Hi Tea buffet. The menu offered a scrumptious culinary treasure of mouth-watering dishes like, walnut pomegranate chicken with wholewheat pita, oats apple crumble, Gond ka halwa, pumpkin risotto with basil butter and add to it the Humming Homeward Tea. The enthralling festivity finally concluded with some heart to heart conversations and with an assurance of keeping our women healthy.

To sum it up, “The Imperial Culinary Clubstarted by The Imperial is a great initiative which aims to share the finer nuances of ‘The Imperial’ cuisine. It is an interactive platform to comprehend and recognize the culinary interest of cooking enthusiasts and includes live cookery show. I was indeed very fortunate to be a part of this wonderful experience.
