Lingmala Waterfall

Around 6 km away from Mahabaleshwar, the magnificent Lingmala Waterfall is one of the best places to visit. Situated at an altitude of 1278 meter in Venna Valley in Satara district of Maharashtra, the Lingmala waterfall gives you jaw-dropping vistas around. It looks eye-arresting in the monsoon season. One needs to walk 30 minutes to get the view point of the water fall. There are apparently two waterfalls. This is undoubtedly one of the best places for nature lovers. The scenic surroundings of the waterfalls with hanging clouds during monsoon make a picture perfect postcard.

Arthur Seat Point

Another popular tourist attraction in Mahabaleshwar is Arthur Seat Point. There is a story behind the name of the point. The point is named after Arthur Malet, who apparently lost his wife and his one month old daughter in a very tragic ferry accident in the Savitri River and was often found sitting at the point staring at the river. It offers amazing views of the Savitri valley and is also considered as a trekker’s paradise for adventure lovers. The best part of the Arthur seat point is that you can see five different points from this single ridge, like Echo Point, Hunter Point, Tiger Spring Point, Window Point and Malcom Point. This is a must visit place for everyone.

Venna Lake

One of the favourite places amongst the tourists is Venna Lake in Mahabaleshwar. This man-made lake was constructed in 1942 to solve the water crisis in the city of Mahabaleswar. The lake is 8 km long and spread across 28 acres. It is one of the hotspots in the city. The visitors enjoy the scenic beauty of this artificial lake and also prefer to do boating here. During summer vacation, it gets really crowded as people from nearby places in Maharashtra find it an ideal place for a day out in the city.

Pratapgad Fort

Your visit to Mahabaleshwar would be incomplete without visiting the iconic Pratapgard fort. Around 24 km away from the bustling city of Mahabaleshwar, the fort is situated on a hilltop with uninterrupted views of the Western Ghats. Built by the Maratha rulers in the year 1665, the fort has a great historical significance as it had seen the fiercest battle of Patapgard, many ages go. It has two parts, the upper fort which houses the famous Mahadev Temple and the lower fort which has the Goddess Bhavani temple. The historical ruins of this magnificent fort tell many unheard tales. This fort is considered as one of the top tourist destinations in the city of Mahabaleshwar.

 Elephant’s head point

One of the most famous tourist spots in Mahabaleshwar is the famous Elephant’s head point. It is also known as the Needle’s Point. The view from the extreme edge of the point is simply awe-inspiring. The Sahyadri mountain range looks absolutely gorgeous in monsoon. The overhanging point looks like the head of an elephant and its trunk from far, which draws a lot of tourists each day for its scenic and most picturesque surroundings.
