Why Canon EOS 200D Can Be Your Perfect Travel Companion: The Review

Being a travel blogger and a photographer, I am always on the run. Hopping from one destination to another, whether it is within the country or abroad, I am always on the move with my travel essentials. It’s unimaginable to step out to explore without carrying my top travel essential, which is a camera. It has been a constant travel companion during my travels. When it comes to the camera, I am a loyal user of Canon Cameras and their lenses. So far, I have been able to capture some of the most astonishing frames with it and I am highly contented. Recently, when I was sent a newly launched Canon EOS 200D for review, I jumped at the opportunity to play with the new product immediately. And,I decided to explore my own city with Canon EOS 200D.

The first-hand experience

The very first experience of using the Canon EOS 200D was satisfactory. The camera is light weighted, compact and easy to carry on your travels, which is quite impressive. While exploring the settings of the camera to capture some of the frames, I was very pleased to notice its easy navigation and smooth functioning as well. The instinctive controls and fully touch screen facilities make you feel as if you are using your smart phone with a lot better specifications and features. Bigger is better and the viewfinder of EOS 200D makes you see the world as it really is. The flappable screen is also a great feature to add for those who are into vlogging and video making. It definitely makes your job pretty easy. What I loved about this camera is its battery life. It often happens that if you forget your extra battery for on location shoot, it gives you a nightmare thinking of running out of battery while shooting the best of the landscapes, portraits or anything for that matter. It surely has the added advantage in comparison to other cameras.

Striking Features

Compact, Simple and Easy to carry

The most striking feature of the Canon EOS 200D is that it is travel friendly. You don’t need to pack an extra backpack for the camera to carry on your travels. It’s the most light-weighted, compact with all the features and specifications and easy to use. The cutting-edge and intuitive features makes it one of the most desirable cameras which delivers high imaging performance and superior quality images. You can even carry this camera in your handbag, wherever you go. Whether it is for a new destination, weekend trips, parties, this camera can be the perfect travel companion without any hassle. And the best part is that anyone with a basic knowledge of photography can use it to get the desired results.

Best to shoot in low light

With a high-resolution 24.2-megapixel, APS-C size CMOS sensor makes it easy to shoot with shallow depth of field and also enables users to achieve crisp pictures with the flexibility of cropping images without compromising on image quality. It has the EOS 200D a DIGIC 7 processor, which can capture pictures in low-light conditions and give the best results. It helps in reducing motion blur caused by slow shutter speeds which is a common scene in low light conditions. The Canon EOS 200D is ideal for portrait photography. You can have a sharp portrait with all the details in the blue background to make it look professional.

Best for Videos

If you are someone who enjoys making videos or a vlogger by profession, the Canon EOS 200D is the most affordable camera to give you the best cinematic results with some of the most striking features. It has a Dual Pixel CMOS AF for the world’s fastest Live View focusing which makes all the difference in capturing videos. The combination of both Vari-angle LCD monitor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF makes you shoot some fluid shots and slow cinematic videos in full HD quality at 60 fps. It also has an external mic input to record your audio along with the videos. The best part is that it has STM Lens which ensures that there is no noise while shooting or focusing onyour subjects.

Excellent battery life

Another striking feature of the Canon EOS 200D is its excellent battery life. You can shoot hassle-free for hours with its Rechargeable Li-ion Battery LP-E17. It’s such an important feature for any photographer as it makes or breaks any product for that matter. With Canon EOS 200D, you can shoot continuously for two hours and can take 650 stills. It’s an added advantage for a camera like this which is also pocket friendly.

Wi-Fi Enable

I loved this feature as one can easily transfer photos immediately without any wire. The canon camera connect app is a boon for people like me who are constantly on the move. While travelling I am used to clicking a lot of stills and footage. Being a travel blogger and a social media influencer, I need to keep updating about my travel on the go. The wifi enables cameras like Canon EOS 200D to easily transfer the images to your smart phone via the app and you can then upload it quickly on your social media profiles. The dedicated Wi-Fi button makes it hassle-free to connect your camera and smart phone with just a single touch.

Budget Friendly

The good news is that the newly launched Canon EOS 200D is budget friendly. With the best of the features and specifications, this camera is definitely worth a buy, especially for amateur photographers. With the amazing range of features, it definitely ensures a higher standard for photography. It also makes photography easier for the First Timers who want to upgrade themselves from smart phone photography to professional one. To hone your photography skills with the most striking features, easy navigation, guide and user-friendly interface, Canon EOS 200D deliver the best results if you are looking for a budget friendly DSLR for yourself.

Canon EOS 200 D is really a perfect camera specially for vlogging. However, newer models of Canon brand are now giving tough competition to this model. But in fact, they have got a hefty price and that’s why for short budgeted people, the best choice will still be Canon E0S 200 D. perfect piece of writing. Keep entertaining us.

The WiFi and flip screen is enough to convince me! My current camera does t have either and it would be so helpful! We don’t use it for video bc we don’t have a flip screen. I’ll check this one out thanks

Thanks for sharing the review of this camera, I am looking for one compact DSLR for my travel blogs. I like that it is travel-friendly as this is the most important point. The features look very apt. The most important and crucial feature that worries us is the battery life. This camera looks like a great option. Will consider buying it.

I am using Canon camera but slightly older version. As you have listed all good features of this model, then I would look into this model. Wi-Fi enabled and long battery life is the most important feature for me. I am big fan of Canon since long and so definitely this model is on my shopping list.

I am using a lower range DSLR from Nikon but the features are somewhat similar other than Wifi & Video. The compatibility is a big reason I chose that model because I don’t really like to carry a separate bag for the camera. This expandable screen is a great feature. Many times while capturing buildings I found that very useful.

Thanks for this really in depth review. I’m no professional photographer, but my camera broke a few months ago and I’ve just been using the camera on my phone. This is okay for now, but I’ll definitely need a real camera eventually, and this Canon EOS 200D looks like a good contender.

I have a mirrorless (SonyA6000) camera now but am always shopping around to see if there’s something that would be better for traveling. But seems like it might be worth upgrading to the 200d especially since it’s at a good price! Thanks for the thorough review.
