This unique restaurant has a curated menu that has drawn inspiration from the Indigenous food mainly found in the dense forests across the globe. You can relish a wide variety of cuisines that includes mouthwatering grills, an array of soups, salads, and a good range of beverages and desserts as well.

When you visit any safari lodge or luxury resort on the fringes of any National Park in India, you generally relish the food at their standard restaurant or a private bush dinner. There aren’t many themed restaurants that provide meals inspired by popular rainforests and legendary street food from across the globe.

The newly launched Jungle Grill is a terrific addition to the spirit of the forest where you get a specially curated menu that includes food cooked with ingredients inspired by the forest life. Despite the fact that each indigenous item is not easily accessible or found, the menu meticulously presents a substitution to complement the same feel. The best thing about the food at Jungle Grill is that you get to savor a great fusion food platter that satiates your taste buds.

UNIQUE FOOD MENU

When it comes to the menu of Jungle Grill, the quirky names on the menu will grab your attention in no time. Like Wilderness Cranberry Pull Apart Bread, El Foresto Fruit Nachos, The Tiger Nibble Platter, Parsi style Scotch Eggs, Peruvian Grilled Cauliflower, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Spaghetti Bolognese, Corbett Dak Bungalow Stew, Quattro Formaggi, and many more.

The names are not just quirky, but they are presented with a delicious twist as well. Instead of providing a replica of the original dishes, they have prepared them keeping in mind the authenticity using locally sourced ingredients. The curated menu with the local touch makes it quite palatable and relatable at the same time and provides a gastronomical experience.

Like, the Cranberry Pull Apart Bread is a holiday appetizer. This slightly sweet, fluffy pull-apart bread has many versions and people make it with their own twists. However, this classic dish has its charm when you taste it at Jungle Grill. It is served with bhaang ki chutney, kasundi marmalade, and traditional cheese from the Kumaon hills in Uttarakhand.

Likewise, the Moroccan Chickpea Bunny Chow on the menu is inspired by the famous South Africa Street food named Bunny. This is a loaf of white bread, hollow in the middle and filled with a curry either vegetarian beans or meat. This dish originated from the Indians who had settled in South Africa.

It is believed by some that the term “Bunny” was referred to the Indian merchants or artisans who came to South Africa to work in the sugar cane fields around Durban. And they were not allowed to step inside certain restaurants to have food and that is how famous street food came into the picture. However, the Moroccan Chickpea Bunny Chow is served with vegetables and chickpea spiced stew along with a feta house salad at Jungle Grill.

The famous General Tso’s Cauliflower is also part of the menu. This dish is believed to be created around the 1950s by a chef named Peng Chang-kuei. It is an American Chinese dish that is named after a Qing Dynasty who was a statesman and a Military leader. Some believe that a Taiwanese chef prepared this dish when he opened a restaurant in New York. Only to suit the American palate the dish was made sweet and saucy. And that is how the dish came into existence.

However, when it comes to General Tso’s Cauliflower at The Jungle Grill, it has its fusion version. You will get to relish this signature dish with a twist. This dish is prepared with Timur peppercorn from the jungles of Vietnam, and Local Pahadi sesame seed, and served with kimchi, crackers, and Bhut Jholakia (The Spiciest chilly from Assam) sauce.

 Redwood Waffles

Another exciting dish from the menu is Redwood Waffles, which is one of the popular items on the dessert menu. This is no secret that the Redwood Trees in California are the tallest in the World! The inspiration for the dessert is drawn from the name of the tree. The Fluffy waffles are topped with caramelized bananas, ice cream, candied nuts, and maple syrup.

Don’t miss their cold and hot beverages like Pug Mark Lemonades, Vietnamese Coffee, Amber Hot Choco, etc.

EXCELLENT OUTDOOR SET-UP

What I loved about Jungle Grill restaurant is their three layers of outdoor sitting arrangement. Imagine sitting beneath a star-studded sky on the outskirts of Jim Corbett National Park, gorging on a selection of delectable dishes from across the world on your platter. The sound of the wind, the profound stillness, the dim lighting, and the exquisite cuisine all make it very appealing to jungle enthusiasts.

They have three decks at the restaurant. The upper deck faces the river Dhela encircled by the forest, which is an ideal area to have your romantic candlelight dinner with your loved one.

The middle deck is more for groups and families where you can create memories with a handful of delish grills, beverages, and sweet treats. The lower area is also done up quite well where you can enjoy your dinner time with live music.

WALKING GUESTS ALLOWED

The best part of the Jungle Grill restaurant is that it allows walk-in guests to experience its specially crafted menu. It opens the door for everyone who loves to experience a unique dining experience. The Jungle Grill restaurant will be open for lunch hour in the winter months. Rest of the year, the restaurant is exclusive for the dinner experience only.

WHERE DOES THE JUNGLE GRILL RESTAURANT LOCATE?

The jungle grill restaurant is a brand-new addition to the famous leisure resort named The Golden Tusk Resort, located in the Jhina and Dhela zone of the Corbett National Park. The luxury resort has sixty accommodations in nine different categories to suit your budget. It houses two swimming pools, multi-cuisine dining, a bar and lounge, a wellness center, and a wide range of recreational activities on the premises.

Spread over Ten acres of land, The Golden Tusk Resort promises a complete holiday experience for everyone. Whether you are a luxury traveler, a family vacationer, a romantic getaway seeker, or a wildlife enthusiast, the resort has everything to suit your premium taste and style. They also host large corporate events and weddings at the resort.

What drew my attention was a wide collection of rare plants. It was nothing less than a green paradise. Your eyes will be pleased with the lush green surroundings everywhere. Furthermore, the names of each room, villa, or suite are inspired by either the plant adjacent to the room or the flora around it. I found this quite thoughtful.

It not only piques your interest in the unusual name, but it also creates the urge to learn more about the plant. If you are a bamboo lover like me, you will be thrilled to find eight varieties of bamboo on the premise.

Apart from that, one can also indulge in the exquisite water dining experience at The Golden Tusk Resort where they set up an exclusive dining experience in the swimming pool with brilliant lighting and candles around. You can also have a perfect date night at the Gazebo with a special arrangement based on your requirements as well.
